Green City Gardens

In the city it can be of special important to have a garden area.  A little splash of vibrant green and fragrant flowers can do a lot to brighten your environment.  Green City gardens can be a challenge to grow, especially if you live in an apartment or high-rise building.  But it can be done.

If you live in an apartment, your terrace area is a great place to cultivate a garden. You can also use fire escapes, window boxes, small potted plants, hanging baskets and many other solutions to be able to get your gardening fix. If you have access to the roof of your building there is a whole bunch of methods you can use to create a garden up there as well. If these things aren't options then ask if you can have planters in public places around your complex or if you can use some of the buildings property to create a community garden instead of just having a personal garden. Getting creative and using the resources you have around you can make a big difference in whether or not you get to have your garden.
